ARISTERI KINISI NY Meeting this Sunday at 5PM!
The October 9th event against fascism and racism was a great success! Over 220 people attended, among them many fresh faces from the community. A clear message was sent that racism and fascism is unwanted in our city.
There is a great need to continue to build events that show solidarity with the people of Greece and resistance internationally. Recently, scandals are breaking out among the ruling elite in Greece, rocking the Samaras government. The Greek police has been accused of torturing anti-fascist protesters and Human Rights Watch is starting an investigation.
Meanwhile, Golden Dawn, along with religious extremists, are attempting to shut down an Athens theater show they don’t like. They continue with their violent attacks against immigrants and Greek people, leftists and gays, and to make threats against members of parliament. Their latest victim, a Greek national, who was a little too “dark” for the taste of these thugs.
